Stage 1

We know that looking for a new job can be both exciting and at times stressful. We want to be transparent about our hiring process and minimize the unknown.  
 
Our goal is to keep you informed at every point in the hiring process. 
 
You’ve found a job opening that aligns with your qualifications and background – now it’s time to apply! It can be tempting to just add a few updates to your resume and send it. We’d like to suggest that you spend some time learning about the job opening, required qualifications, and our organization. Make sure your resume includes all necessary information relevant to the job opening and how your profile fits the job requirements.  
 
Once you submit your application, our Talent Acquisition team will be evaluating your skills and qualifications and reviewing with our hiring team.  
 
No matter the outcome, rest assured you will hear back from us! We will always respond to you within 10 business days of your application, so stay tuned for updates!

Stage 2

We’re reviewing your application

We’re currently reviewing your application. We will thoroughly assess your resume, cover letter, and any other materials you’ve provided.  
 
We’re interested in learning more about your experience, skills and qualifications, and potential fit with our organization. If your background aligns well with the profile we are looking for, we will invite you to an interview to discuss your qualifications and experience in more detail. 
Stage 3

Interviewing & Assessments

Congratulations! You've been selected to move further in the process!  
 
We’d like to know more about your background. Typically, we have two to four interviews in our recruitment process. As a first step, you will meet with a member of our Talent Acquisition team. We’ll discuss your experience, skills, your interest in Securian Canada, and what makes you a good fit for this opening. You will then meet with the hiring team. Expect these conversations to include questions about your skills, work experience, personality and how you like to work and/or approach challenges.     
 
A lot of our interviews take place over video conferencing but could take various other forms, such as phone or in-person meetings. Do let members of our Talent Acquisition team know if you have any preferences or need accommodation.  
 
Each interview gives you the opportunity to learn more about us too, and we encourage you to ask questions. If things go well, the next step is the final step: getting hired! 
Stage 4

Job offer & Background check

You are very close to becoming a part of Securian Canada! At this stage, you have successfully navigated the recruitment process and have received our offer of employment. We will be reaching out for additional information to initiate pre-employment checks. Our Talent Acquisition team will help guide you through this step. If you have questions – ask us!   

Stage 5

Hired

We will guide you through the onboarding process, introduce you to your new colleagues, and provide you with all the important information to make a smooth transition into your new role. Welcome aboard!
